EXPERIENCE

2010 (Summer): Adjunct Writing Instructor, Academy of Hope ~ Washington, DC
- Work with a class of 10 adult, college-bound GED graduates to help them attain the writing and research skills  
  necessary to succeed in freshman level English
- Teach the basics of research and citation (building a bibliography, formatting and style)
- Prepare students to take the Accuplacer placement test

2009 (Fall Semester): Volunteer Instructor/Tutor, Duke Ellington School of the Arts ~ Washington, DC
- Co-teach grammar/writing sessions for freshman level class focused on improving fundamental writing skills
- Work with individual students during lunch hour writing lab sessions to provide support in all stages of the
  writing process (research papers, prepare for AP exams and compose college application essays)

- Teach SAT preparation curriculum (Verbal, Math and Writing sections) in classroom setting in local high
